Akron fifth-year senior Patricia Ortega won her group in the women's heptathlon and placed fifth overall with a personal-best 5,782 points at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University. Ortega improved on her 2015 personal best by 331 points, including a five-second drop in the 800 to run 2:11.53.
