Joe Waskom, a sophomore at Washington and the reigning NCAA Division 1 1,500-meter champion, took third in the top section of the men's invitational 1,500 in a lifetime-best 3:35.86 at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University's Cougar Stadium in Azusa, Calif.
